The fire cleanses and it destroys like Lucifer slays.
Maybe hell and the devil are one of the same,
residing on
every holy candle lit. It dances at the back
of every mind and laughs as
it consumes you like God.
It is described in many ways -
entrancingly green, glowing red,
furiously blue and dark like
the knight.
It chills as it burns and
suffocates
as it breathes.
Do you hear it cackle?
Calmly,
it envelopes and hugs my neck,
kissing with a fervor I've not felt before;
raising my hairs then razing them down;
hissing at my tears, preying with my fears;
blazing souless innocents and begging me-
begging me to fall on my knees,
bow my heart and feign mercy.
Hush.
The sky falls bland as I lay my head.
So I pray that when the light rekindles my face,
the sun would wring
from the anger within,
hipnotic evil that shall live and rise again.

The Smell of Her Locks
I brush her gold luscious locks and dry
them
roughly with the towel. As my fingers
run
through her silk, I get whiffs of
the shampoo
she uses. Rose has always been my
favorite flower.
I carefully pull her fringe back
behind those
dainty ears and twirl the ends of it
between
my pulsing thumb and long index
before setting
them down nicely at the side of her
face.
Her lips still wet from her shower.
“Make sure my hair is neat for my
guest.” Don’t
worry Missy, my hands know how to
make you
glow. I braid her mane into two rows,
intertwining
her threads tightly. A little pain is
interesting. She
may command me, but I hold the
power.
In an hour’s time, she will stand naked
in front
of the banker’s son and he shall see
the glorious
curls I am so familiar with. From
the other room,
I will tear into those blond screams
with
savage hunger. Just one more hour.

Nails
We have an unorthodox relationship.
I shield you from the cruel hits of life with my own being.
I suffer pain so you don’t have to but I do not mind at all.
I believe it is what I was meant to do.
You dress me up now and then.
Your favorite is the polka-dotted overalls, red with passion
and green with envy. I wear each outfit proudly. I believe
this is how you express your devotion.
and green with envy. I wear each outfit proudly. I believe
this is how you express your devotion.
But your love is possessive.
I sometimes venture and try your limits. You’d surely cut
me off, keeping only what’s close to home. I want
to see the world. But I believe I shall never
leave your side.

Thinking of you
Checking my phone again,
again. Still no notifications.
Checking my phone again.
Open up Facebook on my browser and
I see no reds on the top right.
Close it. Time to do work. Open up
Microsoft. Type in the header of my essay.
Open up Facebook on my browser.
Do you think of me as much as I do of you?
Of course not. You are amazing, but so is she.
She is kind and caring and broken just for you.
You love her and I... I think of you.
Your hands are magic; the way they move -
dynamic. The music you produce, the music
you command, you capture the heart of
songs and songbirds alike, your voice
resonates the world and makes it
pause
for a minum.
You sang for me once. The keys engraved in my soul.
I still feel the trills and they bring me gliss.
I can't believe it.
I don't believe it.
I cannot believe it.
You are like a work of art; so abstract.
Your heart beats to the rhythm of a dance.
Your alluring eyes amazes me every time -
seamlessly symmetrical like periodic alliteration in a poem.
Your smile, your comforting smile,
bends like the smirk of a quaver rest.
Your clef, sexy as always, tugs on
the bold hard strings of my stave.
Sharps and flats everywhere.
But you are hers and I am not yours.
Those lips belong to her.
Those hugs belong to her.
You belong to her and I am behind the
lens of this happy moment captured indefinitely.
Let me check Facebook one more time.
Do you think of me as much as I do of you?
Of course not. Your dream is her.

I am your prisoner
Chit chat chit chat…
Maybe I’ve talked too much.
Maybe you’ve talked too little.
Maybe you don’t want to speak at all.
Sing. Louder. Higher.
I hate that cord.
Let’s redefine it.
“No, it was meant to be written this way.”
Look at me.
My eyes are red with your tears and anger that hide the
jealousy that doesn’t exist.
I imprison you with chains that are my hands and they clutch
tightly to your face.
Look at me.
I’m sorry.
“I’m sorry.”
Echo is a verbal exchange of a dance
that we know by heart.
We have spoken too much
but it is never enough.
I Love you.
“I Love you.”
Our foreheads pressed against the other
but I feel beyond the physical.
I was sure, there and then,
I am your prisoner.

My Heart
My heart flutters.
Not like a dainty butterfly,
but like a buzzing humming bird.
It’s so obsessive it’s irritating.
Yet it keeps me afloat as I taste
the sweet
bitterness of life,
as I wonder beyond the blue openness
and set my sights nowhere.
My heart pounds.
Not like acts of pent up emotions,
but like a covetous husband with the
rhythm of ardor.
It’s so possessive it bruises me.
Yet it keeps me grounded as I taste
the passionate
acidity of love,
as I wonder beyond the red openness
and set my soul nowhere else.
My heart skips.
Not like the rational lady I try to
show,
but like the silly child he brings
out.
My heart bares.
Not like the insecure girl I try to
hide,
but like the brave woman he
sees.
My heart loves
because of him.
My heart loves
because of what he is.
My heart loves
because of what he does.
My heart loves
because of how he loves me.

I trapped a me
Damn it. You're such a troll,
Playing with my mind. Poking it
With a stick. Filling it with unbalanced sweet silver and gold.
Ugh, you're annoying, omniscient
and pleasant. You boil me in a broth,
Light up the fire; the heat and warmth
And I burn.
What trickery is this? I wish
To learn. So as to do to you what
You did to me- the nicer you are to my heart
the more I feel pain and anguish.
I'm holding onto the one thing I
Still could, though it's eating me alive,
Until you present yourself first, as smth I could chose to buy
And call this possession proudly mine.
Till then, I'm trapped in a cage I set
And everyday, I increase how much I regret.

Eating
Your spit coated my face
just the way I like it.
Closing my eyes, I savor every moment.
A smirk. “Darling, I know what you ate for breakfast.”
Our traditional snake dance.
Slobber. More slobber. I love it.
There’s no awkwardness between us,
only heat from friction between our breaths
and heat from the frictionless relationship we share.
“You take my breath away, Honey.”
Our cooperation is seamless-
you follow my lead and I… “Dearie, more tongue.”
I love the taste of your lip gloss.
Strawberry is the sexiest chemical ever made-
a genius’s work that keeps me going and going and going.
and your perfume, your pheromone, my addiction.
I open my eyes to capture this magical frame:
the old man with the disapproving eyes;
the married couple with their green eyes;
and the children whose eyes were prohibited from such a sight.
That’s right. You are going to be traumatized tonight
and the next day and the next. That’s right. It shall consume
you like how she consumes me whole.
just the way I like it.

The day you called to play
I remember I once told you
On the day you called to play
Do not make me lose the game
And feel really sad one day
And yet you decided to triumph
By not speaking a single thing
Put on yr crown and laughed out loud
“Ha-ha, I am the king!”
A block of wood, I thought you were
And still I’m thinking that now
I am your servant, I am your slave
“Oh hail oh hail” I bow
I thought about the unplanted kiss
How foolish I had been
And yet I feel so lucky
Escaping troubles unforeseen
Your image, vivid in my mind
Has lost, though, all its color
It feels so empty, black and white
In that lonely parlor
You’ve not yet spoken, I don’t understand why
It’s your way of gloat, I guess
And yet my heart, you’d taken away
Still loves you no other less
Oh haul your majesty! Oh hail oh hail!
On the day you called to play
Do not make me lose the game
And feel really sad one day
And yet you decided to triumph
By not speaking a single thing
Put on yr crown and laughed out loud
“Ha-ha, I am the king!”

The Notebook and The Stars
look at the notebook and think of the stars,
close your eyes and im right there where you are.
feel my cuddles, my hugs, embrace,
remember my smiles, my eyes, my face.
the rosy cheeks and hazel eyes,
will miss you, when to china you fly.
even though we're not together,
our hearts still link from now to forever.
so when you're sad, don't you frown
cause i am sure to be there when you're down.
stand up tall, lift your head high,
i'll promise you that i wouldn't cry.
the test of time, of people, of us,
we have to take it, let's not fuss.
we decide our fate, it lies in our hands,
do not crush it, or it'll turn into sand.
my eyes are teary, i do not deny,
they won't come out, i told you i'd try.
your lovely lips, your tender kiss,
oh, these little things i'll miss.
think of the notebook and look at the stars,
close my eyes and you're right there where i think you are.
